What began as strangers asking about our matching shirts quickly turned into friends and family requesting custom designs for their own relationships. I found myself spending evenings and weekends creating personalized designs for couples celebrating anniversaries, engagements, and even just the joy of being together.

Six months later, after fulfilling orders from my home studio had taken over our guest bedroom, James encouraged me to take the leap and turn this passion project into a real business. With his support, I left my corporate design job, invested our savings, and GearCouple was born.

The early days weren't easy. I handled everything myself – from design and production to packaging and customer service – often working late into the night to ensure each order was perfect. My first "office" was our garage, converted with a small heat press, a computer, and endless determination.

What kept me going were the stories from customers. A couple celebrating 50 years of marriage with matching shirts that made them feel young again. Newlyweds who ordered custom mugs to start each day of their new life together. Long-distance couples who felt connected despite the miles when wearing their matching hoodies.

As orders increased, I brought on my first team member – my cousin Emma, who shared my passion for quality and personalization. Together, we expanded beyond t-shirts to hoodies, mugs, and eventually pillows, always maintaining our commitment to quality materials and meaningful designs.

Today, GearCouple has grown into a team of twelve passionate individuals working from our workshop in Massapequa Park, NY. While we've expanded, our core values remain unchanged.
